- Completed visa application form
- Valid current passport and any old passport
- Two recent photographs meeting the embassy photo requirements
- Return airline booking slip
- Hotel booking covering the stay in Japan
- Invitation and relationship documents only when a guarantor is involved
- Applicant's tax-income certificate, if available, and bank statement
- If a guarantor in Japan pays, the guarantee letter and the guarantor's financial and residence documents
