- Completed online visa application and the signed pages requested by the visa centre
- Original passport with more than six months validity and blank visa pages
- Recent colour photograph on a white background meeting the stated dimensions
- Invitation letter from a travel service provider registered in mainland China
- Fully paid hotel reservation and a detailed itinerary in China
- Round-trip air-ticket booking
- Bank statement showing funds of at least USD 100 for each day of the trip
- Previous Chinese visas and entry records when requesting double or multiple entry
