For applicants outside Australia who intend to visit temporarily for tourism, a cruise, or to see family and friends and who have enough money for the stay.

Documents to prepare
- Passport pages showing the photograph, personal details, issue date, and expiry date
- National identity card and proof of any name change, when applicable
- Evidence of sufficient funds, such as itemised personal bank statements covering three months
- Travel plans and accommodation or an invitation letter from an Australian host
- Evidence of reasons to return home, such as employment, study, family, or major assets
- Proof of the host's funds when the host will pay for the visit
- English translations of every document not already in English
- Additional consent and identity documents for applicants under 18
